Vizcaya Museum & Gardens | Miami

One of the top places to visit in Miami is the Vizcaya Museum & Gardens. The property was built in the early 1900's and since then the European style estate has been preserved and named a national historic landmark.
As I step foot unto the property I was enchanted by the vast green, the marvelous architecture, the elegant sculptures. Honestly there is no single picture that could truly capture the magnificence of the Vizcaya Gardens estate. There are several gardens to tour and so much to see. Once you enter the  actual museum no picture taking is allowed so be sure to get all your shots in the gardens. Inside, there are over 20 rooms and many passage ways with furniture and furnishings with typical European aristocratic style . Here a map with the floor plan will come in handy.

I really enjoyed my time here. If you plan on visiting bring your student ID if you have one as the entry fee doubles without it. Also if you're not a fan of iguanas or reptiles on a whole, you may want to spend most of your time in the museum part of the property as the gardens are home to some very exotic looking iguanas, ground lizards, and garden snakes. I thought they were cute ! Vizcaya Gardens is easily the most beautiful place I have been to in Miami so far and I'm sure you'll love it too.

  2. Lovely photos - you are really rocking that dress! The tip about the iguanas... you should maybe have lead with that, as it will be a make or break for some people in terms of visiting the gardens ;) I'd love it though, sounds and looks fantastic!

  7. Thanks for sharing - I'm heading to a wedding in the area in February, so I'll need some cool things to do while I'm there! Also, good idea to add the tip about the reptiles in the garden - I don't mind them, but I totally get how they can be a little creepy for some people :)

  8. The gardens looks great. Too bad you are not able to take pictures at the museum. Based on the gardens alone though, I think this place is definitely worth visiting.
